Rundvirke Poles AB is a member of the Nordic Wood Protection Council NTR and manufactures poles according to their rigorous quality requirements and according to wood protection class NTR A-Pole. We have the right to mark the impregnated poles with the quality mark NTR A-Pole. It also means that the wood meets penetration class NP5 according to SS-EN 351-1, i.e. full penetration into the sapwood and has an uptake of wood preservatives according to NTR approval for wood protection class A-Pole.

Rundvirke Poles meets the requirements according to SS-EN 351-1 and NTR “Nordic wood protection classes and product requirements for impregnated wood”. We are authorized to label our products in accordance with the Nordic wood protection classes.

Rundvirke Poles also meet the requirements to CE mark in accordance with the standard EN 14229: 2010. “Certificate of conformity of the factory production control 2412-CPR-1115-01” for the Ludvika factory and “Certificate of agreement for factory production control 0402-CPR-SC1329-13” for the Kälarne factory.

Our production and self-inspection are subject to control by RISE “Research Institutes of Sweden AB” and Finotrol Oy. The production monitoring includes, among other things, determination of penetration and uptake of the impregnating agent in the sapwood and monitoring that the agent meets the appropriate specification.

During the production process, we make many quality checks. Before impregnation, we check the straightness, the presence of knots/knot turns, growth twisting, etc. We also check the moisture ratio, which may not be more that 28% v/v before impregnation. After impregnation, the penetration and uptake of the impregnating agent into the sapwood is checked. Prior to delivery, the surface dryness of the creosote-impregnated products is also checked.
